Congratulations Taiga!
Well it looks like an early Christmas present for La Bellissima Aisaka Taiga .. from TV anime ToraDora! for the less educated.. Albeit, Ami will surely have a thing or 2 to say about this absurd result.
Last Saturday evening, October 17, 2009, the anime saimoe 2009 tournament that ran from late September (tournament proper), ended with the bokken swinging, most-moe-when-asleep loli, Aisaka Taiga, defeating K-On! Bokkee my-IQ-is-naisho-moe Hirasawa Yui in an exciting day-long fan’s vote competition. Coincidentally or not, the K-1 Max 2009 finals will also be held this coming October 26,2009.. but before the Japanese go and watch the boys slug it out at each other, they had the wonderful chance of imagining their favorite moe lolis wrestle it out in strawberry parfait (cuz mud simply isn’t moe) for the saimoe2009’s crown.
The best 4 included Saki’s Nodochichi (fat-penguin fetish girl) and 1-eye blind (not really) Mihoko as well. To best honest, I thought the other more moe lolis would have won (koromo, koromo).. but it seems like taiga fans are strong.. even now- roughly half a year after the show ended. .. That said, ToraDora!’s ami and minorin were left to diss at the whole tournament, having been defeated in earlier group rounds. Well, my irrelevant opinions aside, Congratulations moe bokken QUEEN Aisaka Taiga.. I’ll make sure a real loli dethrone you next year. >_< kukuku *cough*
Taiga pretending to be surprised
I’m pretty much in the opinion that a few fans were scared Taiga would haunt them for the rest of their lives if they didn’t vote her, but without further ado, let’s have a look at the Finals match-up cards.
The fact that the best 4 consisted of 2 characters from Loli Mahjong anime, Saki, was not surprising at all since they came pretty strong at the beginning (although nodochichi was totally wrong)… but to think that both of them would be knocked off in the semi-finals is a bit sad… Wondering where Azu-nyan went? Well blame taiga… then again, if she beat azu-nyan, she can’t possibly end up as runner up, since it’s normal that the hordes of the losing characters would back behind the moe-organism that defeated the loli-of-their-perverted-dreams… I happen to be a Koromo fan… tsk.. shuddup. =_=
Upon inspection of the final votes graph from the time the tournament began at 01:00 JP to 23:00 JP time 17 October, blue line being Yui and red line being Taiga, it is apparent that with Yui’s initial “clean” lead during the twilight hours, the mischievous taiga fans started to play underhanded/dirty tactics including twitter/sms spams and calling random uneducated grade school kids on the streets to vote for what a loli they apparently have little to no idea about (a sample msg would probably be something like: “omg, saimoe 2009 tournament final is today, vote for taiga now and i’ll burn you my entire taiga hentai collection!”. Fear the power of ecchi, for by 11 Am, Taiga has taken the irrevertable lead, to which Yui fans could do nothing but to inch closer using similar tactics.. before realizing.. shit, taiga hentai doujin >>>> yui hentai.

Taiga: 1332 votes vs Yui: 1278 votes

This year’s tournament was still filled with Hayate no Gotoku, ToraDora! characters, with minor addition K-On! characters to spicen up the tournament.. Hopefully, we don’t see more nanoha characters back in the tournament next year due to the upcoming Nanoha 1st movie in January 2010.
